明治・大正期に美人画で一世を風靡した巨匠、北野恒富が描く「踊り」
踊り手の衣装や動きから、古い盆踊系の踊りであることがわかります
金箔散らしで扇面を抜いた 豪華な料紙に、夏の掛物らしく軽やかにかつ 丁寧に描かれた作品
輪補(りんぽ)表装、いわゆる茶掛けの表具に仕立てているのも魅力です
夏の風物詩に、茶席の待合に、

“Dance” by Tsunetomi Kitano

Tsunetomi Kitano, a master of bijin-ga (beautiful women paintings) who rose to fame in the Meiji and Taishō eras, captures a moment of traditional dance in this elegant piece.
From the dancer’s costume and posture, we can sense that she is performing an old-style bon-odori folk dance.
The artwork is painted on a luxurious decorative paper scattered with gold leaf, cut in the shape of a fan. Light and graceful, it perfectly evokes the feeling of summer.
The scroll is mounted in the rinpō style—a traditional tea ceremony mounting—making it an ideal choice for a tea room machi-ai (waiting area).
A refined piece that beautifully represents the essence of summer, tradition, and tea culture.
